Folk tales are stories about folks. Farmers, fools, kings, the occasional talking wolf. Nobody ever checked who qualified.
I write my own, and I call them folking stories: tales about folks of the human kind, and not-so-human kind. They all get the same deal. A place to live, something to want, and enough trouble to keep it interesting.
«Folking Boris» is where I tell them.

New York, 1880. Gus, a con man posing as a Scottish aristocrat, unknowingly kills his own father in a heist gone wrong. He flees west with two fellow outcasts and a stolen dossier to a copper fortune. A nine-year-old orphan joins them and starts learning his dangerous tricks. On his trail: Julian, his half-brother bent on vengeance, and Bella, an heiress in love with Gus. He's running from his past. She refuses to let it decide their future. A brawling, bleakly funny Western about immigrants, found family, and the hard work of love.
A manufacturing glitch leaves a bookish robot carrying the imprint of a boy's imagination. Delivered to a six-year-old girl, it lectures so much that she nicknames it "Booka", then sets out to return it to the boy behind its memories. Far from home, its logic breaks down and it can speak only in lines from fairy tales. The robot's story-shaped logic meets her gloriously unscripted choices on a witty journey about who gets to decide where someone belongs.
